This year, the LUNAR festival will realize its first summer edition. LUNAR: Sea of Lights will take place between 1 and 4 August, offering captivating light art by the Black Sea coast. The art event will be hosted by four of our summer resorts: Tsarevo, Lozenets, Ahtopol and Sinemorets. The festival is organized by the Municipality of Tsarevo and MP-STUDIO and will be completely free of charge on each of the four evenings, from Friday to Monday, inclusive.

Tsarevo Municipality becomes the first municipality after the capital where the impressive event will present various types of light art under the open sky. Since 2022, LUNAR has presented more than 110 light works created by more than 70 artists from around the world. Over the past two years, the festival has attracted more than half a million people to Sofia, making it one of the largest events in the country.

“I am happy that we will be hosting the first summer edition of the LUNAR festival – an event that brings light not only in a literal sense, but also in a symbolic sense. Through art, we will highlight the beauty of our Black Sea coastline, and hosting an event of this scale will support our strategy to attract new audiences and establish the region as a cultural and tourist destination with a vision for the future. I believe that culture should be accessible to all and I am happy that the residents and guests of Tsarevo, Lozenets, Ahtopol and Sinemorets will be part of this unforgettable experience,” said Marin Kirov, Mayor of Tsarevo Municipality.

Especially for its summer edition, the event will create and present works that transform with art not only the urban environment, but also some of the iconic natural landmarks located on the seashore. “After the extremely warm reception in Sofia in recent years, it is an exciting new step for us to share the magic of LUNAR outside the capital. The southern Black Sea coast, with its natural and cultural riches, is an incredible stage for light art that will offer everyone to experience light in a new way – under the stars, on the beach,” said Marin Petkov, founder of MP-STUDIO and the LUNAR festival.

bTV Media Group is the exclusive media partner of the festival and will make viewers empathetic through special reports and coverage on bTV News and current affairs programmes.

The program of the event will be announced soon and more information and all the latest news about LUNAR can be found on the festival’s social media pages: https://www.facebook.com/Lunarlightsfestival и https://www.instagram.com/lunarlights.eu/.
