Creating 3D mapping, exciting animations and compelling TV content will be just some of the topics on the agenda.
Leading experts from Bulgaria and the UK specialising in the digital visual arts will take part in trainings for talents on 11 and 12 May 2024. The workshops will focus on gaining new knowledge and skills in 3D mapping, visual effects, the use of artificial intelligence in the creative industries, creating emotions through TV content, and night photography. They will be part of the training program of the third LUNAR Festival of Lights in Sofia and will be completely free for the participants.
The program is organized with the aim of increasing the knowledge of Bulgarian talents in the field of contemporary visual arts and their technical implementation. The seminars will be hosted by Hyatt Regency Sofia, Vasil Levski Sq. In 2022 and 2023, more than 200 people became part of the training program, in which ten speakers shared their expertise in one of the newest art forms.
For the third consecutive year, over two days, experts with extensive international experience will share their knowledge and address key practical aspects from creating to capturing light art. Ellie Wade from the leading multimedia production software company will be coming from the UK especially for the training sessions Maxon. She will have two workshops, one for beginners and one advanced, in which she will help all attendees create impressive animations.
One of today’s hottest topics, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in creative environments, will be presented by leading graphic designer and artist Rosen Dukov from the creative studio Deffecto. It will direct participants’ gaze towards AI tools for creatives, ethical norms, and the intersection between AI and creativity.
This year, among the specialists who will share their valuable experience with the audience is the creative director of bTV Media Group Valentin Iliev. During the seminar “Graphic Design in Television: from Pixels to Emotions”, he will present the specifics when creating creative content.
All lovers of photography will be able to meet the author of the most beloved shots of Sofia – Ivan Shishiev. The founder of the page Sketches of Sofia who makes the citizens of the capital open their eyes wide to its beauty, will share what every photographer needs to consider when capturing the night city and how to turn every moment into an extraordinary shot.
The founders of LUNAR Festival – MP-STUDIO, will share their 16 years of experience in the workshop “Transforming the World with 3D Mapping: Technical Preparation”. It will feature Marin Petkov, founder of MP-STUDIO and Marin Dimitrov, the company’s COO.
The LUNAR Festival of Lights will take place between 9-12 May and over 20 of the capital’s most iconic locations will be part of it. The event is supported by the European Parliament in Bulgaria and the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, the Sofia Municipality – Calendar of Cultural Events, the Ministry of Tourism and with the financial support of the Creation Programme of the National Culture Fund.
