Sofia Municipality Ensures Walking Access along the LUNAR’s Route

Background

Dear Visitors,

We are happy that this year, thanks to the assistance of Sofia Municipality we will be able to get to the festival areas much easier.

A pedestrian route is being established as follows:

From 8:30 p.m. to midnight, between May 8 and 11, the following streets will be open to pedestrians only:

  • Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. between Vasil Levski Blvd. and Nezavisimost Sq.;
  • Tsar Ivan Shishman St. in the section between Narodno Sabranie Sq. and Aksakov St.;
  • Deacon Ignatiy St. in the section between Aksakov St. and Graf Ignatiev St.;
  • Stefan Karadzha St. between Georgi S. Rakovski St. and Knyaz Aleksandar I St.;
  • Knyaz Aleksandar I St. in the section between Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. and Gen. Gurko St.;
  • Aksakov St. in the section between “Georgi Benkovski” and “Dyakon Ignatiy” Str.;
  • “Lege” Str.
  • “Georgi Benkovski” Str. in the section between “Aksakov” Str. and “Tsar Osvoboditel” Str.;
  • “Oborishte” Str. between “Vasil Levski” Str. and “11-ti August” Str.;
  • “15-ti November” Str.;
  • “11-ti August” Str. between “Moskovska” Str. and “St. Alexander Nevski” Sq.;
  • “Solunska” Str. in the section between “Angel Kanchev” Str. and “Graf Ignatiev” Str.;
  • “Moskovska” Str. in the section between “11-ti August” Str. and “Dunav” Str.

We invite you to leave your cars and visit us using public transport:

The Sofia Metro is extending the working hours of metro lines M1, M2, M3 and M4 until 01:00 at night.

The following ground public transport lines will operate with more regular schedules, between 20:00 and 23:30:

  • trams 2o and 22
  • trolleybuses 1 and 9
  • buses 22tm 94 and 204
  • the night lines departing from Alexander I Square will have an additional course at 00:30 and will be every hour.

Visitors to LUNAR will have the opportunity to see some of the highlights of the program in their full glory, thanks to the introduced ban on the stay and parking of road vehicles, from 18:30 to 24:00, between May 8 – 11, at the following locations:

  • the parking lot on Knyaz Alexander I Square;
  • the parking lot on the northern arc of St. Alexander Nevsky Square;
  • Dunav Street between Moskovska Street and St. Alexander Nevsky Square

In addition our partners from Cyrcl will provide a special surprise for all visitors who want to move from location to location on two tires. We’ll be announcing it soon – keep an eye out here and on Instagram!
