Artists from Poland, Bulgaria and Ukraine are the winners of the first video mapping competition in Bulgaria

Background

The names of the three winners of the first international video mapping contest in Bulgaria are now known.

“We are Skills” competition was organized by MP-STUDIO, with the institutional support of the European Parliament in Bulgaria, as part of the second edition of the LUNAR Festival of Lights. It celebrated the European Year of Skills by focusing on the impressive abilities and incredible creativity of light artists who masterfully combine storytelling with their endless imagination.

Artists from around the world had the opportunity to celebrate human capabilities and how they connect the present and the future, with a 90-120 second 3D video mapping show projected onto the façade of the Regional History Museum – Sofia.

Twenty-four participants, from 12 countries, entered the competition, and the work of seven finalists transformed the façade of the museum, between 11-14 May.

The three winners of the competition are:

  • 1st place: Clockwork (Poland), with the show “Lagun”

  • 2nd place: Antonio Yotsov (Bulgaria), with the show “LEAP”

  • 3th place: Kurbas Pro (Украйна), with the show “Unity”

The winners were chosen by an international jury, with members:

  • Teodor Stoychev, Head of the European Parliament in Bulgaria
  • Birgit Zander, Founder of Festival of Lights International
  • Veneta Handzhiyska PhD., Director of the Regional History Museum – Sofia
  • Alessio Cassaro, founder of Antaless Visual Design
  • Strahil Yordanov, Creative Director of MP-STUDIO
